Learn: We learnt how to make sherbet we are investigating and exploring chemical reactions

Create: We created sherbet to share with ourselves and our whanau/ family

Share: We have written the instructions on how to make sherbet here.  

In a bowl mix the ingredients 

Icing Sugar 1 teaspoon

Baking soda ¼ teaspoon

Raro or some other  flavour ½ teaspoon 

Put in bag and mix 

When you take it what do you observe: Sour, sweet,  fizz,  foam, chemical reaction, bubbly.

What is happening?  The baking soda is a base and the citric acid is an acid. The icing sugar and (Raro)  flavour and there or taste. As a solid the acid and the base do not react but in the presence of moisture (saliva) the citric acid and the baking soda react to give off carbon dioxide gas - this feels like a popping or fizzing sensation! Citric Acid ½ teaspoon

Olympics

We have been learning about the Olympics. I created a collage poster to share my favourite moments of the Olympics. My favourite moment was watching the NZ sevens rugby team get gold and silver. I play rugby and the tries they scored were awesome. Have you been watching the Olympics? Do you have a favourite sport? 
 

SNow

 Today at school there was some snow showers. Our teacher let us go and run around in it. It felt so good, I openeded my mouth and let the snow drops fall down. We where so happy that it was in school time and it hasn't snowned in chch sinice I was a babty we had so much fun in the snow and all of us were scerming cause we were so excited.

This term our Integrated Learning is based around Dragons.  We have an arts interchange as part of this and we went to Room 2 and we learnt how to make a clay pinch pot. Then next week we will progress and make a dragon pot  made soe clan we made a dragon to it was really i liked it so much

All about me 2021

 

During PE we will have been learning about Cross Country Running.  Today is our school cross country. I am excited.   For poetry I created a sensory poem about what I think the cross country will be like. I have shared it with you below.

I will smell the grass and the fresh air of the wind blowing.  I will taste water as I sip it as I run because I am hot.  I will hear the people cheering us on. I will see all the children running around the park. I will feel scared but excited about racing everyone. The end by Blake.
